Morning Update

Yesterday afternoon Dad and I went and visited his employer.  We cannot express the gratitude we have for all they have done, and continue to do, for Dad.  When we returned home I made Dad eat some corn (he needs a lot of fruits and veggies to get his platelet count up) and then he took a nap.  The last two nights Dad has had great visits from some close friends and has enjoyed seeing them.  He struggles with knowing what to do - he enjoys seeing people, but because he is so weak and can easily get sick we are trying to monitor that carefully.

Dad LOVES all the comments made on this blog – they brighten his day and lift his spirits!

Dad slept in this morning but was up twice in the night getting pain medication. He is really looking forward to Kentucky and seeing his parents, brother and family.  We leave tomorrow!

Today he has an appointment with another doctor and lots of eating and drinking.  I think we failed to mention that he did not lose weight this week (YEAH!!).

  10. Enjoy your time together. Laugh, relax and make memories. We are praying for miracles for your family. We will pray for your strength, Gary, so you can enjoy your parents and family. You are a great blessing to many people. The Lund family is certainly blessed by all that you have done for us. If you need me to watch your house, I have new family pics of my family to put up on your wall (remember). We love you! Rae Ann and Jon Lund

  11. Gary & Raynee:
Have a great trip and give our best to your parents. Our love and prayers are with you.

Since this is a private plane, this will give Raynee a chance at a life long goal to be a Stewardess (Flight Attendant) for the entire plane trip.

  13. Gary,

Teresa and I send you our very best during this difficult time. Your courage is an inspiration to me and to all who know and love you. I've been reflecting back to all the fun times our families have enjoyed together when we were younger--the ski outings (remember when I barfed in your car?), the motorcycle riding, horseback riding, and the countless sleepovers with Teague and Kirk. Those were great days for me, and I've enjoyed revisiting them. Hang in there, Gary! With all this outpouring of love and support from friends and family, the cancer doesn't stand a chance.
